ART® Treatment

Active Release Technique (ART®) is a hands-on treatment in which muscle, ligament, fascia, tendon, nerve, or capsule is held with tension on the tissue involved (not the skin) in a shortened position, while the structure is lengthened through a full, comfortable range of active motion and tension maintained throughout the movement.

ART® can be used on every patient, regardless of your job description or your athletic passion. ART® can address repetitive chronic/acute injuries, adhesions, contractures, tissue hypoxia, and joint dysfunction.

Typical treatment lasts around 30 minutes and is performed with the client in comfortable clothing, such as athletic shorts and sports bra. You should get positive benefits from the first treatment, but it’s usually best to come in twice a week for the first two weeks for maximum results. The initial treatment will usually take a little longer as we will discuss injuries/goals, and muscle test multiple areas in order to get the best results possible. A longer ART® treatment (60min), may be most beneficial if there are multiple areas to address.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas.

Orthopedic Massage

Orthopedic massage focuses on treating painful conditions or discomfort that affect the soft tissue of the body. In addition to its rehabilitative approach, it is an ideal form of preventative body therapy. It is extremely beneficial to those who want to explore alternative forms of non-invasive therapeutic healing.

An orthopedic massage is an interactive massage between client and practitioner that is intended to facilitate the body’s healing process through multiple massage techniques, such as myofascial release, muscle energy techniques (contract/relax), trigger point release. Stretching and strengthening exercises are usually suggested after each treatment to assist you in self-care between treatments.

Integrated Orthopedic/Deep Tissue Massage

An Integrated Orthopedic/Deep Tissue Massage incorporates a full body massage in addition to focusing on the areas that are causing discomfort or pain. It is the perfect fusion of a structural massage and deep tissue massage for a thoroughly relaxing and balancing experience.
